KCC Music Committee
Meeting Minutes – March 6, 2006
Attending: Kay Murray, Greg Benoit, Pawel Jura, Deirdre Hooge, Steve Wnuk
The meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m. The minutes from the previous meeting were accepted.
Existing Business- Spring Concert scheduled for March 26th at 3:00
o Pawel will finalize Bell Choir program and his program very soon.
o Kay is in touch with Advertising media including: Courant, Herald, and the Citizen. Herald will do feature story on Sound Express.
o Flyers were divided-up for distribution.
o Refreshments – 2 things each committee member and Sr. Choir will be asked to help with this.
o Need 4 ushers. Steve will ask the confirmation class.
- New Music Committee members nominated: Judy Zuffalatto and Mary Clarkson. Deidre will re-up for another term.
- Choir recognition will be scheduled for Mother’s Day. We will do flowers for the adults and DQ gift certificate for the kids.
New Business- Consider a regular recital as we did this past January in future years.
- Suggestion received for a basic music reading workshop for choir members. Pawel looking for course materials.
- There will be 2 Easter Services. What will we do in-between services for the choirs?
- Reviewed Music Director Job Description.
Music Director’s Report- Bell Choir is preparing for the concert.
- Memorial Gifts donated $215 for Easter Music. The music is stamped with an acknowledgement to Memorial Gifts.
- The Women’s Service League has not yet decided if the Meal in the Upper Room will be in conjunction with the Maundy Thursday service.
- Jr. Choir’s performance was cancelled on Feb. 12 due to snow. They will sing once in March and either on Palm Sunday or Easter.
- CCLI license has been renewed as is necessary every year due to our new Hymnal licensing.
Our next meeting will be April 3, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
