Sunday Service
Worship every Sunday at 10 am
Sunday Worship
We gather for worship every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. in our historic 1774 meetinghouse. Our service reflects our rich Congregational heritage, our love of various kinds of music, our commitment to justice and our desire to live out our faith in daily life. Much of the service is led by church members, including our young people, and there is lots of congregational participation .
Our communion table is open to all people who seek to know the Presence of Christ. Children may receive communion at their parents’ discretion. We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of the month. Grape juice and bread are offered as the communion elements and gluten free bread is available.
No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey – you are welcome here.
Nursery care for infants and toddlers is available each Sunday from 9:50am-11:15am in the Crib Room, located in our newly renovated Parish Hall. This room is staffed by screened and experienced volunteers who provide loving care while parents/guardians attend Sunday Worship.
If you are new to attending service and would like some information on what to expect, check out our ‘I AM NEW’ page!
Summer Worship at Chapel in the Woods
In the summer, in addition to our regular Sunday worship, another service is held at 8:30 am in our Chapel in the Woods. The Chapel in the Woods was created in 1963 and restored in 2000 (by our boy scout troop). Our beautiful chapel in the woods seats about a hundred people amidst the beauty of God's creation. It is open every day (weather permitting) during daylight hours for prayer and meditation, and it is the site of our summer 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship services, starting the second Sunday in July, as well as special programs, weddings, and more. The altar features stones from Congregational churches throughout Connecticut and several other states.
CRIB ROOM
Nursery care for infants and toddlers is available each Sunday from 9:50am-11:15am in the Crib Room, located in downstairs of the Parish Hall. This room is staffed by screened and experienced volunteers who provide loving care while parents/guardians attend Sunday Worship.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
School children, age 3 through 8th grade, spend the second half of the worship hour (i.e., 10:30am-11:15 am) learning the stories of our faith. We have a highly dedicated team of teachers, led by our Christian Faith Formation Director, Gwen McCann.
