Women’s Service League (WSL)
For over 150 years, our Women's Service League (WSL), a women’s fellowship group, has provided a combination of educational programs, spiritual retreats, field trips, and social gatherings that appeal to women of all ages. Each year’s program revolves around a theme and includes regular activities such as a book discussion group, our Secret Pal program, an annual Christmas cookie sale, and the celebration of Maundy Thursday with our Meal in in the Upper Room. In addition to programs for the women of KCC, we also sponsor several intergenerational programs for the congregation. The WSL also bakes home-made pies, which are sold at the Berlin Fair, and is primarily responsible for church’s Berlin Fair booth. In addition, the WSL has a longstanding relationship with the women of Spotswood AME Zion Church, and we gather together at least once a year.

WSL 2026-2027 Committee Members
September 2026-June 2027: Secret Pals bring light, caring and kindness through anonymously sent cards and small gifts. To participate, please complete the sign-up form Secret Pal Sign-up 26-27 or request a copy from the office and return it to Pam Baclaski by September 10th. Secret Pals are revealed at the Salad Supper.
September 22nd, 7:00pm: Zoom Book Discussion Meeting - We’ll meet briefly on Zoom to discuss our plans for the year. Come with your best summer reads and other recommendations.
October 13th, 6:00pm: Fall Potluck and Sunshine Jars Program - Our fall program offers a chance to share good food, fellowship and fun together. Please bring your favorite potluck dish and recipe. We will have a time of devotion, discuss our cooking group concept, and make sunshine jars to bring light to our KCC family.
October 20th, 10:00am: WSL Cooking Group - We will meet in the Parish Hall for a time of cooking and camaraderie. We will prepare a large batch recipe to be frozen in portions and be available for delivery to support our members. All ingredients will be provided. Just bring your smile and enthusiasm. We will be piloting this project for the next few months and continue it over the winter as the need dictates.
