Women’s Service League (WSL)
For over 150 years, our Women's Service League (WSL), a women’s fellowship group, has provided a combination of educational programs, spiritual retreats, field trips, and social gatherings that appeal to women of all ages. Each year’s program revolves around a theme and includes regular activities such as a book discussion group, our Secret Pal program, an annual Christmas cookie sale, and the celebration of Maundy Thursday with our Meal in in the Upper Room. In addition to programs for the women of KCC, we also sponsor several intergenerational programs for the congregation. The WSL also bakes home-made pies, which are sold at the Berlin Fair, and is primarily responsible for church’s Berlin Fair booth. In addition, the WSL has a longstanding relationship with the women of Spotswood AME Zion Church, and we gather together at least once year year.

Upcoming WSL Events
April 2nd, 6:30pm: Maundy Thursday Service/ Meal in Upper Room
This WSL led service begins in the sanctuary with music, a reflection, and introduction of the meal. From the sanctuary we depart to the Parish Hall to partake in a silent meal (of roast lamb, rice, and accompaniments) followed by communion and a service of Tenebrae led by the Diaconate. All are welcome.
April 19th/25th Small Electronics Recycling Service Project:
In keeping with WSL’s theme of caring this year, one way we can show caring for God’s world is through recycling. WSL will be offering an opportunity for church members to drop off small electronics items which WSL members will be recycling at the Berlin Transfer Station. Items may will be dropped off at church on Sunday morning, April 19th or on Saturday April 25th from 8:00-10:00am. The items we will be accepting are: small televisions (<40”), computers, DVD/VCR players, telephones, fax machines, stereo systems, radios. If you would need assistance getting your items to church, please contact the church office and we may be able to arrange pick up on a limited basis.

We will meet to discuss after coffee hour. Feel free to bring a bag lunch. A zoom option is available on request. Also note, this book is available on Hoopla.
May 2th, 8:00am-5:00pm: WSL Retreat at Mercy Center- Caring Women of Faith
This Saturday retreat, led by facilitator Rev. Susan Foster, will focus on our theme of caring and stewardship as well as caring for ourselves. We hope you’ll join us for a wonderful seaside respite. Sign ups will begin in March. The cost is $25/pp and space is limited.
